VIRAL HEPATITIS (HBV/HCV) RELATED STUDIES

Hepatitis B and C viruses both exhibit great species differences with the chimpanzees being the only non-human species susceptible to infection. This lack of variety in usable animal models creates a hurdle for designing in vivo experiments for the research and development of novel therapies and the analysis of virus replication and infection mechanisms.

The Most Robust in vivo Model for Hepatitis Viruses

Since  the chimeric mouse with human heptocytes has the liver nearly completely repopulated with normal human hepatocytes, it can be persistently infected with HBV and HCV. This infection model can be used for anti-Hepatitis virus drug efficacy studies, studies comparing virus replication efficiency, or virus prophylactic studies.

PXB-Mouse is the most robust chimeric mouse model for hepatitis virus studies worldwide.

HBV inocula and measurement parameters included in PhoenixBio's services

Various HBV inocula and HBV parameters are available in our in vivo HBV study services.

Genotypes Ae, Bj, C and D are available as HBV inocula for the in vivo HBV studies.

We provide the measurements of HBV DNA, HBsAg, HBeAg and HBcrAg in the serum.

Analysis of blood biochemistry such as ALT and AST can be provided as well.

Immunostaining for HBsAg and HBcAg, as well as HBV DNA and cccDNA in the liver, are available in study services.

HCV inocula and measurement parameters included in PhoenixBio's services

Genotypes 1a, 1b, 2a, 3a and 4a are available as HCV inocula for the in vivo HCV studies.

We provide the measurement of HCV RNA in the serum as well as the analysis of blood biochemistry such as ALT and AST.
